Welcome to The Mandatory Training Group's online Tissue Viability training course for front-line healthcare and social care providers. All our online training courses, programmes and qualifications are accredited by the CPD Certification Service (CPDUK).
Pressure ulcers are an injury that breaks down the skin and underlying tissue. They are caused when an area of skin is placed under pressure. They are sometimes known as ‘bedsores’ or ‘pressure sores’.
The daily costs of treating a pressure ulcer are estimated to range from £43 to £374. For uncomplicated pressure ulcers, the daily cost ranges from between £43 to £57. Caregivers need to understand the core principles of pressure ulcer prevention.
