People Moving and Handling - Level 2

This practical course helps health and social care staff move, assist, transfer and reposition people safely and with dignity. It supports evidence for injury prevention, person-centred care, practical competence, and workplace compliance.

This practical course is suitable for health and social care staff who assist people with mobility, transfers, repositioning or daily movement support, including care assistants, support workers, healthcare assistants, nurses and agency workers.

No. This is a classroom-based practical course delivered face-to-face at The Mandatory Training Group’s Coventry Training Centre.

The practical course covers safer moving and handling principles, legislation, risk assessment, ergonomics, person-centred care, communication, dignity, use of relevant equipment and practical competence assessment.

You will practise safer handling techniques, dynamic risk assessment, person-centred communication, repositioning, mobility support and the safe use of handling aids and equipment, where available and appropriate.

Your certificate is issued after you successfully complete the classroom session and practical assessment. You can then download your certificate from your ComplyPlus™ LMS account.

The certificate is valid for 2 years unless earlier refresher training is required due to employer policy, local risk assessment, role changes, equipment changes, guidance updates, or incident learning.

The practical session takes place at The Mandatory Training Group’s Coventry Training Centre, HDTI Building, Coventry University Technology Park, Swift Road, Coventry, CV1 2TT.

If you do not meet the required standard, the trainer will provide feedback and guidance. Certification is issued only after all required practical competence checks are completed successfully.

Please bring your booking confirmation and photo ID, arrive at least 15 minutes before the course starts and wear suitable clothing for practical activities.

No physical copy will be mailed, as all certificates are issued electronically for convenience and instant access.
