Hi everyone, it’s Jaden here! Today, I want to tell you about how I write my blogs. I enjoy writing, but sometimes, I find it tricky to get my ideas on paper. Here’s how I do it!

Choosing a topic

Sometimes, picking a topic is hard. I once wanted to write about meeting Jane Goodall because it was super cool, but I made it too complicated. My dad suggested I could write about anything, even a white horse or an old building, which made me realise I can find stories everywhere!

Using the five W’s and one H

I use the Five W’s (Who, What, Where, When, Why) and One H (How) to keep things simple. This helps me organise my thoughts. For example, when I talked about Jane Goodall, I thought about who she is, what she does, where I met her, when it happened, why it was necessary, and how it happened.

Staying focused

Staying focused is sometimes a challenge. I get distracted by things around the house, like going downstairs or checking out what’s happening outside. To help with this, I try to keep my mind on the writing and not get up from my seat too often.

Taking notes

I’ve learned that taking notes is really helpful. One of my friends always takes notes, and it helps him remember things better. So, I’ve started writing down key points or bullet points before typing my blog. This way, I don’t forget what I want to say.

Writing the blog

When I start writing, I imagine telling a story to someone who has never heard it. This makes it easier to get my ideas out and makes my blog more interesting. For example, when I wrote about Jane Goodall, I just pretended I was telling a friend about the exciting day I met her.

Why I write blogs

I write blogs because I enjoy them, and they help me with my schoolwork. It’s fun to share my thoughts and stories with others and improve my writing and reading skills.
