Yes. This train-the-trainer blended course may also be referred to as adult resuscitation train-the-trainer, BLS trainer course, or basic life support instructor training, depending on the workplace setting and terminology used.
This train-the-trainer blended course supports you to plan and deliver Basic Life Support training within your competence, role, experience and organisational governance arrangements. Your employer or commissioning organisation remains responsible for authorising your role as a trainer and the scope of your delivery.
No. This is a blended course. You complete the online learning first, then attend a face-to-face practical assessment and micro-teach session at our Coventry Training Centre.
No. The certificate is issued only after the successful completion of online learning, online assessment, practical session, micro-teaching, and competence sign-off.
Trainer resources may include BLS slides, session plans, micro-teach guidance, practical assessment checklists, learner observation forms, attendance registers, feedback forms, competence sign-off records and guidance for adapting materials to local policy.
You will complete trainer-led activities, CPR and AED demonstrations, supervised practice, competence checks, micro-teaching delivery, and receive feedback from an experienced trainer/assessor.
Yes. You should have relevant Basic Life Support, resuscitation, first aid, health or social care experience before attending this Train the Trainer course.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the course start time to allow time for registration and to ensure the course begins promptly. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for participation in basic life support demonstrations and practical activities.
Please bring a valid form of photo identification, your booking confirmation and your certificate from the online training course, either printed or available on your mobile device.
The practical session takes place at the HDTI Building, Coventry University Technology Park, Swift Road, Coventry, CV1 2TT. The venue offers free on-site parking, easy access via local bus routes, is within walking distance of Coventry Railway Station, and provides complimentary refreshments throughout the day.
Roadworks and a road closure on Mile Lane may cause travel delays and disruption to usual routes. To access the HDTI Building, please approach via Ringway St Johns and follow the signs for "Tech Park" through Short Street, Parkside, Puma Way and Swift Road. Please allow extra travel time and check local traffic conditions before travelling.
