Why is this basic life support train the trainer course important?
This train-the-trainer blended course helps experienced staff teach CPR, AED use and emergency response safely and consistently. It supports workforce competence, practical assessment, training governance, and evidence of compliance in health and social care settings.
Is this basic life support train-the-trainer, also known as adult resuscitation train-the-trainer?
Yes. This train-the-trainer blended course may also be referred to as adult resuscitation train-the-trainer, BLS trainer course, or basic life support instructor training, depending on the workplace setting and terminology used.
Does this BLS train the trainer allow me to train others?
This train-the-trainer blended course supports you to plan and deliver Basic Life Support training within your competence, role, experience and organisational governance arrangements. Your employer or commissioning organisation remains responsible for authorising your role as a trainer and the scope of your delivery.
Is this BLS train the trainer course fully online?
No. This is a blended course. Book the preferred Coventry practical date first, then complete the online learning, receive feedback and approval for the micro-teach submission, and pass the end-of-course assessment before attending the face-to-face practical session at our Coventry Training Centre.
Can I get a certificate only after the online course?
No. The certificate is issued only after the successful completion of the online course, submission of micro-teach materials, passing the end-of-course assessment, the practical assessment, and the competence sign-off.

What happens during the practical BLS instructor session?
You will complete trainer-led activities, CPR and AED demonstrations, supervised practice, competence checks, micro-teaching delivery, and receive feedback from an experienced trainer/assessor.
Do I need BLS experience before attending?
Yes. You should have relevant Basic Life Support, resuscitation, first aid, health or social care experience before attending this Train the Trainer course.
What should I do before attending the practical course?
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the course start time to allow time for registration and to ensure the course begins promptly. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for participation in basic life support demonstrations and practical activities. Please also bring a laptop and adaptor for the micro-teach session.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a valid form of photo identification, booking confirmation (printed or available on a mobile device), and a laptop with an adaptor for the micro-teach. Without a laptop, the micro-teach cannot be completed.
Where is the training venue located, and what facilities are available?
The practical session takes place at the HDTI Building, Coventry University Technology Park, Swift Road, Coventry, CV1 2TT. The venue offers free on-site parking, easy access via local bus routes, is within walking distance of Coventry Railway Station, and provides complimentary refreshments throughout the day.
Is there any important travel information I should be aware of?
Roadworks and a road closure on Mile Lane may cause travel delays and disruption to usual routes. To access the HDTI Building, please approach via Ringway St Johns and follow the signs for "Tech Park" through Short Street, Parkside, Puma Way and Swift Road. Please allow extra travel time and check local traffic conditions before travelling.
How will I receive my BLS certificate?
Upon successful completion of the online course, submission of micro-teach materials, passing the end-of-course assessment, Coventry practical assessment and competence sign-off, the certificate will be available through ComplyPlus™ LMS as a quality-assured PDF that can be downloaded directly from the learner account.
What if I need to change my booking?
If circumstances change, please contact us as soon as possible. A risk-free date transfer is available, allowing bookings to be moved to another available course date, subject to availability, without losing the course fee or incurring an administration charge.
