Year 6 highlights: Adventures, parties, and farewells

Hey friends! It’s me, Jaden; I’m back with a unique blog this time! This is the end of my junior school journey, and the senior school is just within reach. So now, let’s look at the highlights.

The hype with the residential trips
Let's look back at some of our past residential trips. One of them was PGL, which we jokingly called "Parents Get Lost," although it wasn't true. It was like camping, where we learned how to light a fire, conquer some of our fears, and relax with friends. Another memorable trip was to Preston Montford, which focused on problem-solving, long nature walks, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Partying like the party animals
So sometimes (other than break times), you feel like singing out loud and having an all-you-can-eat area and unlimited drinks! Occasionally, you get to have a blast with your buddies and “colleagues” and tire yourself out. Well, guess what? We got to have a year 6 leavers ball night that lasted for nearly three years! In those hours, we had a boys vs. girls dance-off (which, by the way, the girls won) and got ice cream with our VIP passes!

Academic achievements and challenges
While the fun and games were a significant part of Year 6, we also had some academic milestones and challenges. Preparing for and taking our SATs was a big part of the year, and all the hard work and revision sessions paid off when we got our results. We worked on various projects that required research, creativity, and teamwork, and presenting our work to the class helped build our confidence and public speaking skills.
These academic experiences have prepared us well for the challenges ahead in senior school.
Saying goodbye
We must say goodbye to our beloved junior school as we move on to secondary school. Our teachers assembled a touching farewell assembly with a slideshow of our journey from reception to Year 6. Each of us received a memory book filled with photos, messages from friends and teachers, and personal reflections on our time at junior school. On the last day, we signed each other's shirts and yearbooks, exchanged contact details, and promised to stay in touch. Saying goodbye is bittersweet, but we’re excited for what’s to come.

Looking forward to senior school
The excitement of moving to senior school is palpable. We’re looking forward to exploring new subjects and discovering our passions, joining various clubs, from sports teams to drama and music, and making new friends. We're all eager to gain more independence and responsibility as we navigate senior school challenges and opportunities. This journey has been incredible, filled with adventures, learning, and unforgettable memories. Here’s to the next chapter!
