Hey everyone! Yes, you read that right: the Northern Lights were spotted in Wales! I’m still wrapping my head around it! We were staying up at Hilston Park, high above the clouds, where I thought I’d have the perfect view for spotting anything spectacular in the night sky. And just imagine—right over us that night, the Northern Lights put on a rare, magical show!

What are the Northern Lights?

I’ve read about the Northern Lights – they’re also called the Aurora Borealis. Usually, people have to go to places like Norway, Iceland, or Alaska to see them. I’ve seen pictures in books and online, and they look so cool – like a big light show in the sky with green and purple waves. But here in Wales? I never thought we’d actually see them, especially not while I was at Hilston Park with my friends!

The magic we missed!

But here’s the crazy part—none of us saw it! Can you believe that? All of us kids, including me, were already in bed, probably snoring away. We missed the whole thing! When I saw the photos the next morning, I could hardly believe it. The sky looked like something out of a dream, all glowing with this cool greenish light. I bet it was even more amazing in real life!

Hoping for another chance

So, yeah… I missed it this time, but I’m hoping I’ll get to see it someday. I can already picture it: standing outside on a cold night, all bundled up, looking at the sky with that amazing glow lighting everything up. If it happens again while I’m here, you can bet I’ll stay up for it!
