What is CQC mandatory training?
CQC mandatory training is a course developed to ensure that care workers are trained and working to a set standard. CQC Mandatory training courses guide those in all areas of healthcare and adult social care, ensuring they comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities), and Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.All healthcare and social care providers must adhere to the CQC, complying with the regulations they set out.

What is CQC?

What is CQC Regulation 18?
CQC’s 18th regulation requires providers to have sufficient trained staff to meet the needs of the people using their services. The staff must be competent, skilled and have suitable qualifications and experience.
To meet the requirements of the CQC, training courses and support must be provided to ensure that staff can carry out their roles safely and effectively. And this includes receiving any training they need to obtain the necessary qualifications.
If the care provider can not prove that they comply with Regulation 18, the CQC registration will refuse them. And this will make them less attractive to potential clients and their families.
How to meet the requirements of CQC training Regulation 18?
To satisfy CQC standards, your staff must:
- Receive suitable training to carry out their duties and be given ongoing CPD training. And this includes any mandatory care training covered under other statutory requirements.
- The skill mix of your staff needs to be reviewed so that you can adapt to changing needs of the people using your service. If there is a new risk, equipment or a new client with particular needs, CQC training standards require you to ensure that you have staff trained to cover their requirements.
